Nice to meet you! I am documentary photographer based in Portland, Oregon.
Trained as an engineer, I have always been drawn to details and quiet observation.
I am a documentary photographer based in Portland, Oregon.
At 18, I wanted to study journalism, hoping to explore the world through words and photographs. At 20, I got my first Canon camera, and I’ve kept the habit of shooting ever since. At 40, I picked up my camera again, in many ways returning to my 18-year-old dream—seeing the world through the viewfinder, and more importantly, rediscovering my inner world.
I’m also the mother of a seven-year-old boy. After he was born, I read extensively about parenting, which led me to fall in love with psychology and education.
I prefer working with natural light and embrace a quiet, companion-style approach to photography. Sensitive and intuitive, I’m drawn to capturing fleeting, subtle emotions and moments. In my photographs, you are both your truest self in this moment, and the person you long to become.

Jessica knows her camera very well and is great at adjusting the tones to match each family’s vibe.
She is also very patient to my 2 year old son, who is always of full of energy. My son really enjoy the moment with her!

Jessica is always happy to communicate and even over-communicate details such as the shooting flow, room setup, and styling, so I know exactly what to expect. She’s incredibly considerate!

Jessica didn’t ask us to pose a lot. Instead, she guided us to simply do everyday things together, yet the photos turned out so natural and full of story. The two hours went by so quickly, and it felt like such a special bonding time with my daughter..

Jessica’s talent for photography comes from her ability to notice beauty in everyday moments. She has a gift for capturing subtle emotions—little details I might never have noticed myself.
Our session felt warm and cinematic, and she created such a relaxed and natural experience for our family. It was truly special.
